A long time ago, in a little house exactly where Katie's Kitchen now stands, Katie had a dream of making money selling lemonade to passers-by. She had seen other kids with lemonade stands, and was thrilled at the idea of having her own stand.

Unfortunately, being in a house nestled deep inside a small neighborhood means you don't really get a lot of traffic. That's not great for business, so we talked her out of her lemonade stand idea. Still, every time she thought about it, she got fired up and excited for the possibilities.

Eventually, our church hosted a three-month workshop on starting your own small business. Katie talked us into taking her, and volunteered to bring treats every week. Our homemade cookies were a big hit, and we realized we had a product worth selling.

We're still in the same small house, making the same amazing cookies that have delighted our friends and neighbors.
